My First Crush

By

Write about your first crush.

In the bustling town of Rancho Cucamonga, twelve-year-old Patricia had just started seventh grade. Cucamonga Jr. High School was a lively place, filled with the excitement and awkwardness that only middle school can bring. Patricia with her bright eyes and a heart full of curiosity, found herself navigating this new chapter with her best friend, Lucy.

One warm September afternoon, Patricia and Lucy decided to explore the small, quaint shops near their school. They giggled and chatted, their backpacks bouncing as they walked. Their favorite stop was the local soda shop, Mr. Thompson’s Fizzy Delights, which was famous for its old-fashioned soda fountain and vintage décor.

As they entered the shop, the bell above the door jingled, and the cool air inside was a welcome relief from the heat. The place was filled with the sweet scent of sugary syrups and the sound of laughter. Patricia and Lucy made their way to the counter, where Mr. Thompson, a kind old man with a twinkle in his eye, greeted them.

“Hello, girls! What can I get for you today?” he asked with a warm smile.

Lucy, always the adventurous one, opted for a cherry cola. Patricia however, was still deciding. Her eyes scanned the menu, lingering on the descriptions of the various sodas.

Suddenly, the door opened, and in walked David, a boy from their class. David was known for his charming smile and kind nature. Patricia felt a flutter in her stomach as he approached the counter. She’d always admired him from afar, but seeing him up close made her heart race.

“Hey, Mr. Thompson. I’ll have a root beer, please,” David said, his voice confident and friendly.

Patricia couldn’t help but watch him. There was something about the way he carried himself, the ease with which he talked, that captivated her. She felt a warmth spread across her cheeks and quickly looked away, hoping no one had noticed.

“Patricia, what about you?” Mr. Thompson’s voice brought her back to reality.

“Oh, um, I’ll have the new strawberry fizz,” she stammered, trying to compose herself.

As Mr. Thompson prepared their drinks, Patricia couldn’t shake the feeling that her first real crush was developing right then and there. But as she took her first sip of the strawberry fizz, something magical happened. The flavors exploded in her mouth, a perfect blend of sweetness and bubbles that made her smile widen.

“This is amazing!” she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.

Lucy laughed. “See, I told you Mr. Thompson’s sodas are the best.”

For the next few weeks, Patricia found herself thinking about the strawberry fizz more than anything else. Every day after school, she and Lucy would head

to Mr. Thompson’s shop, and eagerly order her new favorite drink. The fizz of the soda, the sweet taste of strawberries, and the refreshing coolness became the highlight of her day.

One day, as she sipped her soda and watched David chat with his friends, Patricia realized something. While David was nice and charming, it was the joy she felt from the strawberry fizz that truly made her heart skip a beat. It wasn’t a person she was crushing on; it was the pure, unadulterated delight of her favorite soda.

She giggled at the thought and took another sip, savoring the moment. Sometimes, the simplest pleasures were the ones that left the most lasting impressions.

And so, in the end, Patricias first crush wasn’t a boy from school but the delightful strawberry fizz that brought a smile to her face and a sparkle to her eyes every single day.

This was all bs. Enjoy your day!
